The world-famous, and the world’s largest, palace and park ensemble of Peterhof, is located 30 km from St. Petersburg.
It consists of palaces, cascades and parks, each of which is a separate masterpiece of architectural and garden art.
The palaces are magnificent examples of the architecture of the times of Peter the Great. Peterhof’s parks are a veritable green kingdom, with walls of lush vegetation and shrubs, and an emerald carpet of terrycloth grass underfoot. In the midst of this profusion of colour, bubbling openwork bridges and vases, bronze sculptures loom majestically.
But the main treasure here is certainly the fountains — in total there are more than 150 of them. And each of them is original and unique.
